In America you can become famous and make money by literally saying the most idiotic things possible. That’s kind of why we started this blog. There is just a never ending supply of dingleberries out there who just can’t stop finding ways to make themselves look like complete nudniks. Without these people we would have nothing to write about, so in a way I’m kind of happy these morons exist.
No one epitomizes this relationship more than Melody Hensely:
Here’s her story…
A Washington native claimed that Twitter gave her PTSD – a condition normally experienced by war veterans. Melody Hensley was diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder 16 months ago, following online abuse, which she says is a result of her being an outspoken feminist. Hensley has come under fire after she claimed that her PTSD due to the excessive use of Twitter – reading mean comments and cyberstalking those who are bashing her – are as bad as the mental anguish war veterans experienced.
In an interview with Dailydot, Hensley shared how she became a target for “atheist misogynists and men’s rights activists” a few years back, following her open status as an activist and atheist herself.
One man, according to her, even went as far as publishing all of her tweets using Storify. Others have cut and paste her tweets into YouTube videos, questioning her stand and claims regarding the disease.
What’s more, Hensley also claims to have been harassed by a mob of “more than 400 people” which she said led to her diagnosis.
On Twitter, Hensley wrote, “This wk has been tough. There has been a campaign against me. I’m blocking dozens of accounts of ppl telling me I don’t have PTSD & threats.”
In another tweet, she wrote, “They think years of online harassment and cyberstalking can’t cause PTSD. I’m here to say it can and it has. You will not silence me.”
Hensley also clarified certain claims being thrown at her. She wrote, “I didn’t self-diagnose or decide to have PTSD. I was diagnosed by a very good psychiatrist. I’m not looking for armchair psychiatrists.”
“I respect military and would call commanders and other authorities only to defend myself against threats.”
“I don’t discount military vets’ PTSD. I care about everyone with PTSD. I want people to realize that it is not a military-only condition.”
Daily Mail tried contacting Hensley for further comments but she said she is “not well enough to answer questions” at that time.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – feminists need to take feminism back from the crazies. For real, your entire movement used to have a purpose. You used to fight for suffrage, equal access to educational and career opportunities, and equal funding for sports. But now you have literally been taken over by an army of psychopaths with short hair. But now people like Melody Hensley are the rule, not the exception. Just an army of mentally unstable morons who think they’re some sort of champions of justice because they refuse to shut up. Ever.
I just found out who this idiot is today, thanks to a loyal reader who exposed me to her madness. She’s a special kind of idiot though. She embodies two aspects of our society that suck. They are:
1) The feminazi crowd. These people have convinced themselves that growing up white, middle class, and female is the hardest thing in the world to go through. Everything men say is by nature misogynistic. Men are evil by nature and will go around raping everything that walks if insert a quarter into them. If you don’t agree with that then you can’t see your own privilege.
2) The cyberbullying victim crowd. These people haven’t figured out how to ignore internet trolls. Instead of just blocking people who say mean things to them, they purposely go out and look for people who will magically turn them into victims. The internet was made for people to say vile things anonymously. It’s baffling that people haven’t figured this out yet and learned how to navigate through the madness.
The ultimate irony here is that feminists are supposed to be strong, independent women. How strong are you if you’re crumbling from basic internet trolls?
Here’s some of her better tweets:
Newsflash: Nobody wants to leave their home and go to work. This is called “life” not “PTSD.” We’d all love to have full time jobs where we sit at home and bitch on Twitter. You’ve obviously figured out a way to not only do that, but to convince some idiots on Twitter that this is actually a real disease, and you are actually suffering.
If this isn’t the face of someone suffering from PTSD, then I don’t know what is:
Since when did the feminist look HAVE to involve a short haircut, gigantic glasses, and small dogs?
Well, obviously she pissed a lot of people, so she of course went and threw a bunch of gasoline on the fire…..
Yea, watching your friends get blown up in front of you is the EXACT SAME THING as a bunch of internet trolls calling you a moron. Sure they can never, ever forget the things they’ve seen, while you can just close your laptop. But besides that it’s the EXACT SAME THING.
See the thing about this woman is she is a product of our society. We’ve given people the impression that having your feelings hurt is like having a cannonball shot in your face. No difference at all. She calls the online trolling she received for claiming to have PTSD, “hell on earth.” Because in America you can call sitting on your couch and tweeting all day “hell on earth.” Sure, soldiers who have seen combat have seen friends killed in front of their eyes. And that’s the EXACT SAME THING as what this poor idiot is going through by sitting in her pajamas on the couch. Makes sense.
Gotta love how she hides behind the feminist label too. Newsflash – people aren’t trolling you because you’re a feminist. People are trolling you because you’re belittling the experiences of people that can’t function in day to day society because they’ve experienced the trauma of combat.
Her pain is the SAME EXACT PAIN that people who went through war experience. Ya got that? She knows too. Because psychological pain is something that can be measured in metric units. But the people who point out that she’s literally pulling this out of her ass are the “troubled’ ones. Right….
So let me get this straight Melody…You are really “sick” because people say mean things about you on the internet. You hope to one day “conquer this disorder,” which you developed by going on Twitter. And you believe the best way to “conquer this disorder” is to go on Twitter as much as possible. Because that makes TONS of sense. Someone should tell a combat veteran who watched a friend get blown up by an IED that the best way to conquer their fears is to go back and watch it happen to a few more people.
See, the second tweet basically sums up why she sucks at life so much. Instead of identifying themselves as “nutjobs” or “psychopaths”, crazy people just call themselves “activists” and pretend like they’re standing up for some bullshit noble cause. She thinks she shouldn’t have to give up going on Twitter, even though it supposedly has made her really sick, because going on Twitter is her “job.” That’s like a football player with a broken leg refusing to come out of the game because playing football is their job.
A very good psychiatrist, who she has never once named. Right, it’s totally a real disease because you found some quack doctor to write you a note saying you get to work from home. Right.
She’s gonna call the drill sergeant on you guys!!! Gotta love this move on her part. Someone who actually can’t sleep at night because they get constant flashbacks to Iraq is offended by her claims that she suffers from the same disease they do. Then they message her to call her out on it. She responds by trying to ruin their career. Does it get any worse than this piece of human garbage?
Intense therapy? You mean like people who are learning how to walk? And now you have to lie in bed all day and go on the internet? You poor, poor baby.
Melody, we know you won’t be silenced. That’s because you’re a loud mouthed feminazi who likes to hear their own voice. Also, since when is tweeting at someone with an open Twitter account cyberstalking?
Right, because it’s all about you, and your idiot psychiatrist told you that. This isn’t surprising at all. We’re telling people these days that they should do whatever makes them feel good, regardless of how moronic or stupid it is.
Yea combat vets, get over yourselves!!! PTSD has changed this poor girl’s life forever. First she had to go to work every day like a normal person. Now she has to sit at home with her dogs and watch Lifetime movies while whining on the internet.
So this is America. We’re so sheltered from real world problems that doctors over here telling rich kids they can commit crimes because of “afluenza.” We tell everyone who isn’t white and male that they don’t have a fair chance in life because they’re not male and white. We tell people that instead of ignoring cyberbullies they should seek them out. And we tell people who are called names on the internet that they’re suffering from the same type of psychological disorders that heroes who served in combat are.
That’s why we’re doing the people’s work here at TurtleBoy Sports. Because someone has to let these idiots know how truly, truly wrong they are.
Feel free to share your thoughts to keep the conversation going.

How sad that you have no life.
Perhaps you should get one, since no one is going to be your girlfriend anytime soon.

I have been publicly shamed in front of 10,000+ for opening my big mouth and saying stupid things at the wrong time . I would say that this lady needs to get over it but then I thought to myself that maybe she’s just doing this for attention.

Child abuse, rape, witnessing a murder and certainly not to forget, being in combat can cause PTSD. But this… cyberbullying? I think… she just told this psychiatrist who’s name we do not know for some vage reason, some symptoms she read on the internet. That while she mixed it with her tumblr “harassment” stories. Something like: “I can’t take it anymore. It’s like I can constantly hear the words ‘you’re a bitch’ in my head.” People are capable of this. People like her. She sure needs a psychiatrist, but not for PTSD. More for having the “syndrome of Munchausen.” It’s a syndrome for people that make themselves believe they are sick. She makes herself believe she has PTSD. She made this psychiatrist believe it, if that person is even real. It’s so, so, SO unfair, for people suffering from actual traumas. It’s unfair for the girl, feminist or not, that actually got raped (you probably are also familiar with these “every man raped me”-feminist), it’s unfair to the kid getting abused by his parents and it is so unfair to all the soldiers that served in any war ever!
I don’t get people like this. It’s like they get energy from the sympathie of other people and even from the critique of her “enemy”. She is her own enemy.

Ok I know PTSD can be caused by a lot of things Child abuse rape but to say twitter is a cause to me sounds like BS but that’s not really what I take issue with, It’s her saying that she respects soldiers with PTSD then states she will go to their commanders if they keep telling her she hasn’t and that their statistics are not the highest that maybe the case but I can assure you It can be the worse.
little experiment here which is worse?
A) being called mean things on the internet
or
B) watching friends women children getting killed before your eyes or this specific example watching your best friend having his legs blown off and being helpless to do anything as he screams on the floor in agony
If your a public figure on the Internet abuse is what you get just anyone else in the public eye not everyone is going to like you and the more your views seem stupid to them the more trolls you attract to her I say grow up and accept it just because you cry you have frankly a potentially life destroying mental condition won’t make it go away

Post traumatic stress disorder is in no way limited to war veterans. It’s absolutely possible for someone to be so heavily traumatised by comments alone. I say this after having gone through sexual abuse, parental neglect, further emotional, psychological abuse and sexual abuse followed by distrust founded in family, trusted friends and even complete strangers taking advantage of me from the age of 4. Having PTSD means you can expect any and every emotional, psychological, physical etc trigger to further traumatise you in mundane day to day situations where any amount of stress is applied. Whether she developed PTSD prior to or because of twitter is irrelevant. If it has been diagnosed the public owes her. If you have the sense to recognise a war veteran with PTSD then it’s even more barbaric to attack someone who has developed it just because it wasn’t done at war. Instead of contributing to the problem by harassing someone further how about supporting them and helping them learn to live with how society has let them down.

PTSD only causes the things she claims for very rare – ridiculously extremely rare – cases of PTSD. It doesn’t in any way, shape, or form cause you to be bed ridden – of any severity. House ridden maybe [big maybe], bed ridden, never.

Not really true. Sometimes the depression part of the PTSD is so bad I can’t get out of bed, eat, or shower for days. Though I doubt very much this lady has PTSD.

All that good work that genuine Old School Feminism did has been diluted by these people. They rail on about misogyny yet hardy a word about the Women of the middle east who are seriously threatened with being burned alive, stoned, having noses cut off & acid thrown in their faces, the life of an “Online Activist” seems a little odd to me but then again, i’ve not “Checked My Privilege” today.

She’s a worse person than a, say, genocidal dictator or a serial rapist?

What a ridiculous person to even compare herself to combat veterans. She is a narcissist and a grandstander. This person should not be argued with because you cannot argue with stupidity. Well written article.
It said that this is just another example of how society is becoming soft and “equal in every respect” rather than “fair and “just”.

Thank you for saying this: “You used to fight for suffrage, equal access to educational and career opportunities, and equal funding for sports.” That’s the sort of feminism my mother, my aunts, and my grandmother practiced.
These days I’m embarrassed to call myself a feminist and *loathe* that people like Hensley (among many others) are the public and online face of today’s feminism. The image they are putting out there is that women are hothouse flowers and men must tiptoe around them and *never* disagree (because that’s harassment and bullying, dontchyaknow).
I’ve talked to way too many men who say they’re reluctant to talk to women as they’re afraid they’ll say something completely harmless but it will be construed as “sexual harassment” or “misogynistic”. Just take a peek at “Elevatorgate” and “Donglegate” to see how far down the moronic rabbit hole this sort of thing goes.
And as far as Hensley’s “PTSD”, I’m reminded of something my father repeated to me often: “Man goes to a doctor and says to the doctor ‘it hurts when I do this’. The doctor says ‘don’t do that’.” Simple.
