We’re starting a new weekly blog here at Turtleboy Sports where we find some poor schmuck in legal trouble and ask the age old question – could Worcester Criminal Defense Attorney Michael Erlich save this idiot? He’s the guy you go to when you’re in a jam and need legal services in the 508. Here’s this week’s defendant – Brittany Macintyre, a 20 year old who was arrested for soliciting prostitution at the only place to go to when you’re looking for a prostitute – the Tewksbury Public Library.

TEWKSBURY (CBS)A 20-year-old woman has been charged with prostitution at the Tewksbury Public Library.

Police say they got a tip Tuesday that someone was soliciting sex in the library, so they sent in an undercover officer.

The plain clothes detective claimed Brittany Macintyre of Nashua, New Hampshire approached him immediately and handed him a pen and a piece of paper.

The two passed notes back and forth until she allegedly asked for $60 in exchange for a sex act.

“I didn’t think Tewksbury was that big on prostitution,” one library patron told WBZ-TV. “I’m quite shocked because a lot of kids come here and I’m a teacher, so it’s pretty scary.”

Macintyre was arrested and charged with sexual conduct for a fee.

She was also booked on an outstanding warrant for drug possession out of Lawrence District Court.

“It was a little scandalized,” said Pamela Gardner, who is a librarian over in Wilimington, but agrees the location is unexpected. “That’s a little upsetting, in the library!”

News of the arrest stunned residents.

“There’s nothing I know about this library or about Tewksbury that could ever suggest that that could possibly happen here,” one woman told WBZ-TV.

“That’s something that you don’t normally see every single day, especially around here in Tewksbury,” said another man.

First of all, if your given name at birth is “Brittany Macintyre” you’re pretty much predestined to hold down the public library prostitution racket right? If there is a name more suited for a bootleg hooker than Brittany Macintyre then I’m still waiting to hear it.

Look, this obviously wasn’t Brittany’s first time picking up John’s at the Tewksbury Public Library, which means of course that business was pretty good. Obviously she figured out a system that the rest of the hookers walking the streets of Nashua, NH haven’t caught onto yet. You simply have to respect her business instincts. She’s a free lancing woman of the afternoon who doesn’t have to pay a 100% commission to some deadbeat pimp she has to call “Big Daddy.” The more I look at this girl, the more I actually respect her.

As for her legal defense, this girl is completely fucked right? I mean, this is better than video evidence. She wrote down the offer on a sheet of paper that she gave to a police officer, which might as well be a confession. Oh yea, and she’s got priors and outstanding warrants for drugs. And based on her mugshot it’s gonna be tough to convince even the most liberal Massachusetts judge that she’s not 120% strung out in the courtroom.

I’m not a lawyer, but if I was I’d definitely play the drug addict card. In this state you can pretty much do anything you want and as long as you’re on drugs you get a taxpayer funded trip to rehab. But I’m not, and maybe Michael Erlich can convince a judge that this was all a big joke. I mean, your Honor, do you honestly think she was being serious? I mean, who prostitutes at the Tewksbury Public Library without a pimp? Be serious. This is obviously a big misunderstanding, so let’s all just go home.

Can he pull that one off? That’d be impressive right there.

Feel free to share your thoughts to keep the conversation going.

  1. Dude, she’s a repeat offender. What are they going to do with her? They’ll let her go. Also, guess what? I know a brain surgeon who popped 70 pills a day. Drug addicts are everywhere. Oh, and alcohol’s been proven to be the WORST drug of all. Followed by heroin, then cocaine. I’m from Chicago can most everyone at Cook County is there for drugs. The war on drugs is just a big revenue generator.

    • Sooooo… Is that the defense that Michael Erlich should use?

So I assume she’s out on bail or personal recognizance. Is it listed anywhere in the terms that she is not allowed to go anywhere near the Tewksbury Library? How about any library at all? What about bookstores? College Bookstores? Amazon??

    • White girl from Tewksbury… probably victimless. Asian girl in San Francisco (that statement has nothing to do with my recent trip to San Francisco)… we are probably talking about human trafficking or a poor decision to let the Yakuza take modeling photos of her.

What the fuck is your problem?
